Hartlepool
[edit]I've removed mention of Hartlepool from the article. The Harry Hooper who played for Hartlepool in the late 1940s is a different person, Harry Reed Hooper born in Burnley in 1910; see this Hartlepool site for confirmation. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 11:14, 6 May 2008 (UTC)
- Harry Reed Hooper was Harry`s father —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.170.83.163 (talk) 20:13, 8 January 2009 (UTC)

- This is Harry Hooper (footballer born 1910) who played for Sheffield United in the 1936 FA Cup Final. --Daemonic Kangaroo (talk) 16:04, 29 April 2009 (UTC)
- @Struway2: Belated(!) thanks, I must have got that from the West Ham Player List (obviously I wouldn't use that as a reference these days). Nice work on this, I think I've referenced the remaining bits now, with the exception of the London XI game. That article shows Hooper as the scorer of the final goal against Basel. However, the 1955–58 Inter-Cities Fairs Cup article shows it as being scored by Eddie Firmani (referenced by RSSF). Clearly one of those articles is wrong.. Nzd (talk) 02:17, 24 May 2018 (UTC)
- No idea which, I'm afraid. RSSSF has Firmani, as you say, but Linguasport has Hooper. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 11:03, 24 May 2018 (UTC)
- @Struway2: Thanks for that, I've sent off a couple of e-mails.. Nzd (talk) 12:33, 24 May 2018 (UTC)
