[edit]I'm new to editing wikipedia articles, though I have some small experience working on another smaller wiki project set up by some friends. Anyway, this article concerns my father, who is also one of my bosses at the moment. Neither he, nor anyone at our company, have had anything to do with this particular article, and we agree it does read like a resume, which isn't helpful to anyone, including us, as it just makes it look like we're ineptly trying to promote him and the company. (We suspect it was altered to the current state by a PR person trying to promote Skip ahead of an interview or speech). So I'm going to be trying over the next few days and weeks to try to clean up this article so it consists only of verifiable information, and doesn't read like a promotion or resume, but I'm fairly new to wikipedia so I'm hoping to get some help. I'm trying to give full disclosure of my relationship and all in hopes that it won't appear that I'm doing anything untoward, I'm just trying to fix up this article! Would it be appropriate, at least for the moment, to roll it back to the January 17 2007 version? That seems to have been the last version before it was altered to it's current, resume-like state. I'd then like to work to improve it and flesh it out a bit, but that seems like a pretty good starting place. Brandonshire (talk) 17:08, 7 November 2008 (UTC)
- Sure, go ahead. It is currently prodded (proposed for deletion), but this procedure, designed for uncontroversial deletions, can be forestalled by removing the tag. The longer version makes it harder to see what is noteworthy than the short earlier one. Welcome to wikipedia!John Z (talk) 00:32, 10 November 2008 (UTC)
Ok, I've reverted the content of the page to the last version before the "resume-like" edit was made, I didn't completely revert back to that version as I wasn't sure if it was appropriate yet to remove various tags (like the resume-like warning at the top) and such. Still learning about all of this stuff... Anyway thanks for the help so far! Hopefully I can work to make this article more informative, while keeping it factual and verifiable!
