Potential copyright violation in too-close paraphrasing
I've just left a question on the talk page of an active copy clerk to gain clarity for how to move forward on this, and I'll leave a note here as well:
I was randomly sent to this page by "suggested edits" to suggest an article description, and noticed that the lede paragraph seems to be pulled nearly verbatim from the subject's professional bio on a university website.
I'll happily volunteer to rewrite the lede in my own words based on the gist of the full article scope and sources, I'm just waiting as a "newbie" to confirm the best way to do this.
From what I read in the copyright noticeboards, there may be a need to have an administrator fully delete the closely paraphrased text so it does not remain in edit histories, so I'll hold off until someone can provide clearer guidance on best practices here.
