number of appearances

[edit]

Is there something wrong with my fingers? Harmony is said to appear in 17 episodes of Angel but I can only count to 11. —Tamfang 05:26, 7 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

She appeared in 11 as a guest star and 6 as a regular 10:03, 7 February 2006 (UTC)~~

Sire

[edit]

Who was Harmony's sire. I just watched Graduation and yes Harmony is bitten and then is not seen again, till we see her as a vampire next season. is it the female vampire that bit her, or someone else, like Spike. I'll take a non canon answer from the novels:

We see Harmony get bit in Graduation II, but who her sire is never revealed. It could be the same vampire seen biting her onscreen. Else any other surviving vampire could have taken her 'turned' her in the chaos following the school exploding. It's unlikely that Spike was the sire since "In The Harsh Light of Day" implies (but doesn't outright state), that Spike had only recently returned to Sunnydale for the first time since "Lovers' Walk" -- Paxomen 11:46, 20 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Cordettes or Harmoniettes?

[edit]

This may sound like a strange question, but the season 2 episode 'Bewitched, Bothered, and Bewildered' got me thinking. In the final scene it featured the following lines from Cordelia to Harmony: 'You're a sheep. (...) All you ever do is what everyone else does, just so you can say you did it first. And here I am scrambling for your aproval, when I'm way cooler than you are cause I'M not a sheep! I do what I wanna do, and I wear what I wanna wear.' These lines seem to imply that Harmony is the leader and trendsetter of Cordelia's group-o'-pals, since it states that Cordelia 'scrambles for Harmony's approval' everytime Harmony's chosen a new type of outfit. Even though Cordelia has clearly been shown in earlier episodes, with an entourage of ever-changing roster (extras of the week), as leader, if we are going to make it canon, it should be cleared up who was trendsetter and head of the group: Cordelia or Harmony? What do you guys say? [under his breath] Ohmigosh, gag me with a spoon, I'm delving into Valley-rama! Trey uncool! 62.194.0.236 14:04, 22 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Like you said, Cordelia was clearly the leader of the group. She was only scrambling for Harmony's approval when it came to the Xander stuff in that particular episode, not when Harmony chooses a new outfit. The dynamic changes a bit after BB&B and "The Wish", but overall, I think most people will agree that Cordy was the leader and Harmony was the sycophant. --SHODAN 14:30, 22 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed - Cordelia was the leader, but her position still derived from social approval (such is the nature of teen queens). Riverbend 15:52, 23 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with Riverbend - Cordy was clearly the leader of the Cordettes. But her position as such came from social standing; she was only seen as the leader as long as the others viewed her as the coolest (i.e., approved of her the most). Cordy knew that her being the boss of the group depended heavily on how the group viewed her, and whether the group approved of her coolness factor or not. That's what her statement about "scrambling for approval". If you want an even clearer explanation, watch The Breakfast Club and pay special attention to Molly Ringwald's character, the prom princess; she talks about the pressure on the cool kids to be cool, how it's "harder" for them because they have to constantly work at maintaining their social status. Okay, writing it down... and it's noted. Thanks for clearing that up for me.

After the paragraph about Harm's role in Season Eight, it's a bit jarring to read that she may not have survived to Angel: After the Fall. If Buffy season 8 is contemporaneous with Angel season 5, this makes sense (except that the public revelation of vampires surely didn't happen before the end of A5!), and I considered putting in a parenthesis to that effect, but couldn't find a phrasing I liked — and I don't know that it's accurate. —Tamfang (talk) 20:33, 7 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I was under the impression that Buffy Season Eight and Angel Season Six were running almost concurrently. LA was sent to hell at roughly the same time as season eight started. So given that Harmony is trying this stunt halfway through season eight tells me that she did infact escape LA.
Which is all well and good, but no reliable source has pronounced things one way or the other. About all we can say is: she's appeared in a cover and teaser for the next Buffy S8 issue, and she's not appeared in After the Fall. Jclemens (talk) 02:46, 26 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Nope! Season Eight is set AFTER After the Fall, perhaps in line with "now".~ZytheTalk to me! 21:17, 9 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Zythe is right. The official statement was that Season 8 is at least "a year and a half" after "Chosen", which would put it in line with AtF, but the fact that Dawn was a college freshman immediately before the start of the series implies that Season 8 takes place 3+ years after the finale, putting Season 8 definitively AFTER AtF. Also, if Harmony was not meant to escape L.A., it is likely that we would have seen her by now. And it is also likely that, if Joss already had this Harmony arc planned, which he probably did seeing as this arc appears to be the big season game changer, that he would not have let Harmony be in AtF. kingdom2 (talk) 04:06, 10 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
