I do not believe that Lela Rochon appears in this music video. she appears in a full length film called "Harlem Nights," which may account for attributing her with appearing in this video. I have never found a reference on the web as to who is the actress who stars in the video. Perhaps only Bakshi and the Stones know her identity. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.163.140.161 (talk) 18:48, 28 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

References

[edit]

As it talks about the music video for the Rolling Stones' cover version, there are a series of questionable references. The first source is a message board, the second is a broken link and the third is a YouTube comments page. None of these should be used. The sources aren't reliable. Uh, my first two references were a newsgroup posting by John K. himself in which he confirmed that he directed the animation while Bakshi directed the live-action, and a bloge response by Bob Jaques, who worked on that video as well as several other John K. projects. I agree that a Youtube by some random guy is even very reliable, though, but I don't many sources to use.--JFP 17:16, 10 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Stones version/Bobby Womack

[edit]

The text says Bobby Womack is on backing vocals, but the personnel list doesn't mention him. Is that an error? Masato.harada (talk) 15:24, 1 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I've removed it as unsourced. Dirty Work article does not specifically mention he did backing vocals on Harlem Shuffle. Masato.harada (talk) 16:05, 23 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Cover opening single?

[edit]

"It became the first cover song the Stones had released as an opening single off a new studio album since 1965." I was curious as to what the earlier opening single had been, so I asked ChatGPT and it replied: "The opening single the Rolling Stones released in 1965 that was a cover song was 'The Last Time,' which was the lead single off their album Out of Our Heads. However, it’s important to clarify that 'The Last Time' itself was not a cover but an original song by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards. The confusion might arise because Out of Our Heads contains several cover songs, but 'The Last Time' was not one of them. The album did include covers like 'Mercy, Mercy' and 'Hitch Hike,' but the single leading the album was an original composition. [...]" ChatGPT turned out to be screwed up on this, as it often is, first in initially stating that "The Last Time" was a cover and then immediately correcting itself. Worse, "The Last Time" was neither the first song on the album ("Mercy, Mercy") nor the first single release ("Satisfaction"). But what was the alluded opening single? If there wasn't one then this should be corrected or deleted; if there was, it might be a good idea to identify it, perhaps in a parenthesis. Bret Sterling (talk) 15:31, 23 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
