Second station on the Lake Mahopac Branch?
[edit]Most of what I've read about the Lake Mahopac Branch suggests that the only station between Katonah and Mahopac was Lincolndale. However I noticed on this map, and a few other 19th Century maps that a station named "Somers Center" also existed. Was this just an old name for Lincolndale? And if not, what's the story behind it? ---------User:DanTD (talk) 03:10, 28 October 2013 (UTC)
Harlem Valley name
[edit]So, the rail line was named for the valley. So, how did the valley get its name? Jim.henderson (talk) 22:41, 2 October 2014 (UTC)
- Actually, I believe the valley was named for the rail line . ---------User:DanTD (talk) 00:10, 26 February 2015 (UTC)
Grogan's book on the New York and Harlem
[edit]Does anybody else have a copy of "The Coming of the New York and Harlem Railroad," by the late Louis V. Grogan? I got my copy today through Amazon.com, and while it was quite expensive, I had enough money in my account (thanks to numerous gift card purchases for myself) to get a copy. Plenty of interesting info for numerous station articles, the Harlem Line article itself, and the New York and Harlem Railroad article. This was on my wish list for a long time, and after Emily (formerly Moser) reported his death, I had get a copy as soon as I could before they jacked the price up on any available copies of the book. ---------User:DanTD (talk) 22:14, 17 November 2015 (UTC)
- @DanTD: I hope to get that book myself, but could you help add info to this article? I have spent time today adding to the article.--Kew Gardens 613 (talk) 01:56, 20 June 2017 (UTC)
- I thought I added some references related to the book to this article. I know I've added it to a lot of station articles. ---------User:DanTD (talk) 02:00, 20 June 2017 (UTC)
- I know that you have done some, but there are some chapters of the history that don't go very in depth in the article.--Kew Gardens 613 (talk) 13:09, 20 June 2017 (UTC)
- @Pi.1415926535: If possible, could you help improve the article? Thanks.--Kew Gardens 613 (talk) 02:01, 20 June 2017 (UTC)
- Sadly, I know next to nothing about the Harlem Line, nor do I have any useful reference books. My area of expertise is mostly east of New Haven. Pi.1415926535 (talk) 02:08, 20 June 2017 (UTC)
- Thanks for the response.--Kew Gardens 613 (talk) 10:08, 20 June 2017 (UTC)
- Here's some material we've been overlooking Looks like some of the stations we've been adding data on were around before 1858, after all! ---------User:DanTD (talk) 21:51, 29 June 2017 (UTC)

Reservoir realignment
[edit]We need more info on how the creation of the New Croton Reservoir, Kensico Reservoir, and others lead to the realignment of the line, as well as the stations along the line. ---------User:DanTD (talk) 14:14, 2 February 2018 (UTC)
