Happy Monster Band is an interstitial program that airs on Playhouse Disney, and is produced by Kickstart Productions. The series was created by Don Carter. The show is about a group of monsters that performs songs about friendship, love, exercising, chores, and other preschool related themes. Season 2 and 3 follows the Happy Monsters on their tour around the world. Season 3 follows the Happy Monsters on their tour around the world again. On March 23, 2012, when Disney Junior started its own channel, the show returned to airing with only reruns.

Characters

Major characters

There are five monsters that make up the Happy Monster Band: Bluz, Geemer, L.O., ink, and Frred. All of the monsters' names echo their colors: Bluz's is blue, Geemer is green, L.O. is yellow, ink is pink, and Frred's is red. The main characters were designed by Don Carter.

• Bluz is the band's keyboardist, and has four legs. He often contradicts L.O.'s opinions, stating that monsters should scare and not care about art. He is blue. During the World Tour, he doesn't know about foreign languages. He is the youngest in the Happy Monster Band. He is 6-years-old and the parody of Taboo. Voice by Jake T. Austin of Wizards of Waverly Place.

• L.O. is the other lead singer, and plays bass guitar. He is yellow. L.O. is the only monster in the band that goes against traditional thinking, preferring to paint and draw instead of scaring. He is the oldest in the band. He is yellow and the parody of will.i.am. He is 9-years-old.

• Frred is the band's vocal output, and plays electric guitar. He is red. He is 8-years-old and the parody of apl.de.ap.

• Ink is the band's drummer. she's has three eyes and she's pink. her drums can glow either pink, magenta, & purple. unlike the other band members, ink only sings during choruses. however she has a solo verse in "do the monster stomp". during world tour, she carries a globe that shows where the band is fluent in several languages. ink is voiced hanna leigh.

• Geemer is a green girl monster who loves to play her saxophone. her saxophone is gold yellow with 12 keys. she has bubbly hair and has 10 tentacle legs. she likes to swing, do cart wheels, blow bubbles with her bubble hair, geemer is voiced by suzanne lactor singing voice, ruby chaps speaking voice and maggie derella UK voice. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.244.225.66 (talk) 10:10, 9 October 2021 (UTC)

Minor characters

The first season introduced several characters that paralleled the existing TV series American Idol.

• Roc and Raoul are two conjoined, purple monsters that are the shows hosts, parodying the original Idol hosting duo of Brian Dunkleman and Ryan Seacrest (who, in turn, were based on the British duo Ant and Dec). They speak in rhyme to introduce the show and the judges, but they don't speak in rhyme while backstage. They are also in season 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7.

• La, Dee, and Da are the show's judges, who parody Randy Jackson, Paula Abdul, and Simon Cowell respectively. They do not return in season 2. they returned from season 3. All 3 are bright green.

Happy Monster Band facts
