Doom patrol
[edit]???
Is the Doom Patrol part a metaphor? Because the original characters, IIRC, died in an explosion in the waters of Canada while saving a small fishing town.

No. The second series was largely set at the Secret Sanctuary during the Grant Morrison era.
As for the fishing village, it was originally Codsville, Maine. After the original Patrol was killed off - so everyone including the writers believed at the time - it was renamed "Four Heroes" in their honour. I wish I could recall which title of which series states that name change.

Changes and a Question
[edit]I know, my changes might be a little odd, but boldness is encouraged in Wikipedia.
Question: Are there enough noteable genuine citizens of Happy Harbor to have a list? No superheroes, I'm talking about for example, teenager Mick Gurk, who Mister Mxyzptlk (along with Robin, Superboy and Impluse) dedicates his hassling of Superman to. Not many Joe Average DC citizens can say they inspired a fifth-dimensional imp to a life of slapstick. Lots42 (talk) 01:22, 24 December 2007 (UTC)
Note
[edit]IIRC, Happy Harbor is still a thriving town in 3008, it showed up in 'Final Crisis: Legion Of Three Worlds'. I'll doublecheck when I get the chance. Lots42 (talk) 16:45, 7 May 2010 (UTC)
