Notability

Does not meet WP:SOLDIER & sig RS coverage not found link, just a few name checks.

No de.wiki article. Please also see a note at MilHist Talk Archives for background behind the redirect. In summary, per the outcome of the discussion at Notability:People on notability of Knight's Cross recipients: permalink, certain recipients were deemed non notable and WP:SOLDIER has been modified accordingly: diff. The articles of these recipients are being redirected to alphabetical lists.

RfC on flying aces

A recent MilHist RfC, which aimed to modify SOLDIER to cover those with ace status, concluded w/o arriving at a consensus that flying aces should be presumed to be notable. Here's the RfC in question: RfC on notability of flying aces. I thus restored the redirect. Please let me know if there are any concerns. K.e.coffman (talk) 21:28, 11 June 2017 (UTC)

This is a 68-kill ace - taking out an aviation regiment by himself - which meets WP:SOLDIER(4). In addition he is well covered and sourced in numerous books. Take him to AfD if you wish to delete.Icewhiz (talk) 21:23, 12 June 2017 (UTC)

B class review

B class. I respect K.e.coffman's work, but I am satisfied that a pilot who shot down 68 warplanes is notable. Djmaschek (talk) 21:34, 27 July 2022 (UTC)
