I know there is a Bruning School here in Lima and the main museum in Chiclayo is named after him.--Andersmusician VOTE 23:09, 30 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

nationality

Was he Peruvian or a German who lived in Peru? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.144.214.127 (talk) 16:03, 16 June 2012 (UTC) He was born as "Hans Hinrich Brüning" on 20th of august 1848 in the lease district ("Erbpachtdistrikt") "Hoffeld" in Bordesholm, now in the north of Germany. In that time it was part o the Danish State "Dänischer Gesamtstaat", but also of the German Confederation "Deutscher Bund". It would be interesting to know, which ID he had, when he emigrated to Peru. For shure it was a german one. — Preceding unsigned comment added by TB in Ol (talkcontribs) 11:52, 11 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

references

[edit]

If someone knows German a couple of references might be extracted from this website:Hamburg Museum of Ethnology. As for the above question, he probably never gave up his German citizenship, but the Peruvians have adopted him as one of their own.WQUlrich (talk) 23:48, 28 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
