Notability
Does not meet WP:SOLDIER & sig RS coverage not found link, just passing mentions.
No de.wiki article exists. Did not hold a significant command and topped out as Leutnant. Successful completion of missions (sorties flown, # of enemy aircraft shot down, etc) is not part of SOLDIER. A MilHist RfC on this topic has failed to gain consensus in May of 2017:
Please also see a note at MilHist Talk Archives for background behind the redirect. In summary, per the outcome of the discussion at Notability:People on notability of Knight's Cross recipients: permalink, certain recipients were deemed non notable and WP:SOLDIER has been modified accordingly: diff. The articles of these recipients are being redirected to alphabetical lists. K.e.coffman (talk) 01:10, 25 August 2017 (UTC)
- I just assessed this for Milhist, and I think the argument about SOLDIER is irrelevant. He meets GNG based on the sources used in the article at this point. Peacemaker67 (click to talk to me) 02:40, 4 September 2019 (UTC)
B class review
B class. Please look at the following ambiguous sentence. Djmaschek (talk) 04:31, 12 August 2022 (UTC)
- Eastern Front, paragraph 2: "Over the next few months Birkner often flew as Rottenflieger (wing man) to the high scoring aces Günther Rall and Erich Hartmann, claiming any of his victories whilst flying with them." This seems to suggest that any planes shot down by Birkner were instead credited to Rall or Hartmann. If that is what you are trying to say, please rewrite the last clause to make that more clear.
- Thanks, should have read: "Over the next few months Birkner often flew as Rottenflieger (wing man) to the high scoring aces Günther Rall and Erich Hartmann, claiming many of his victories whilst flying with them." Cheers MisterBee1966 (talk) 07:20, 12 August 2022 (UTC)
