Speedy deletion
[edit]Note: Speedy declined. The article asserts notability and cites sources. Take it to WP:AFD if you disagree. NawlinWiki (talk) 19:41, 19 June 2009 (UTC)
Will do, my reason for asking for deletion are the following: Sources are all in icelandic so unverifiable by anyone outside native speakers therefore notability is only the opinion of the author and falls under original works. The standards required by WP:BIO are not upheld. Gismoto28 (talk) 11:39, 21 June 2009 (UTC)
Hannes Smárason is a notable investor in Europe, i noted that the page was incomplete and it needed improvement and cleaning.
Research in Google shows plenty of sources in English;

You can edit the page if you have the time, --Patroiz (talk) 00:25, 22 June 2009 (UTC)
As far as I can tell you are the sole contributor to the page and just recently so, but I may be wrong about that. Most of these articles talk about companies not a person, the subject may have something to do with these companies but that does not mean that he is a notable person himself. As I understand the WP rules, a bio on a living person is only warranted if the subject itself is of notability. Gismoto28 (talk) 02:39, 22 June 2009 (UTC)
A user by name of Flush99 keeps removing sourced and referenced contributions about material developments involving the subject (Hannes Smarason) concerning his activities subsequent to 2007. As the chairman and later CEO FL Group, Smarason was involved in various important transactions in Iceland in the years preceding the crash of the Icelandic financial system. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Anonice (talk • contribs) 11:09, 25 May 2010 (UTC)
And another user, Anonice, seems to be using wikipedia as some sort of news outlet/soapbox. I suggest respecting the guidelines for biographies of living people. Gismoto28 (talk) 15:38, 14 June 2010 (UTC)
