I rather think that announcing separately that Hannes and Iceland have each played four games in a competition is too roundabout a way of saying the obvious: he is currently the starting goalkeeper in the national team. I know at least one person disagrees. If anyone ever reads this thing, please say what you think. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Leifurf (talk • contribs) 17:01, 11 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Not as such. He is often referred to as a national team goalkeeper, and that's often what is meant as the national number 1, but it can refer to the substitute keepers as well on occasion, and I didn't find any references when I searched previously. However, after some more googling, I've found one now that calls him the main goalkeeper (the Icelandic way to explicitly say national number 1) of the national team, though the article itself is about his desire to play abroad. The article was published on a media group's online website (while mostly the website of their newspaper, it contains clips from some TV stations owned by the same group). I'll add that. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Leifurf (talk • contribs) 17:23, 11 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Not done for now: I can't see where to add it or why. Please reopen your request if you think it is really useful. L293D (☎ • ✎)00:02, 17 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
