August 2012 - Hi,

further to the below notes I had made in 2011, below please find some more reasons why I feel that the Hanjin shipyard page should NOT be deleted.

  • This is slated to become one of the most important shipyards in South East Asia. Hanjin has nearly closed t's shipyards in Korea, thus increasing investment here in Hanjin Subic. As of August 2012, it employs 23,000 workers (+ about 2,000 people are connected with ancillary activities indirectly connected with the yard)
  • The wikipedia HHIC Hanjin Shipyard Subic page is among the most comprehensive and informative pages about this shipyard.
  • Huntington Ingallis has signed a MoU with the shipyard this year for repair of US Navy ships. That means interest in this shipyard will grow even more.

The above information may be confirmed through articles that have appeared in shipping newspapers Fairplay and Llloyds List, the Subic Times, and the SBMA website. Rajagopalsriram (talk) 00:53, 31 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

October 2011 - The HHIC Hanjin shipyard Subic article has been added, primarily because -

1) It is the largest shipyard in Philippines 2) It employs 21,000 workers and has been producing large vessels 3) Is the largest Hanjin shipyard in the world and 4) Is expected to become the 4th largest shipyard in the world by 2015

Information has been taken from 1) The HHIC website (official Hanjin) 2) News reports on the internet and blogs 3) Personal experiences (I live in Subic and work in Hanjin shipyard)
