Assessment

[edit]
  • I have done a little copy editing. Feel free to revert anything you are unhappy with.
  • I there a reason why "Three Months' Service" is capitalised?
  • "the Confederate cavalrymen were forced into retreat. Assigned to picket duties the next day, they were then ordered to pursue" It would be helpful here if "they" were specified.

Excellent work. I like it. Gog the Mild (talk) 12:52, 19 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Thanks for your help. No reverts needed. Per one of my previous responses. "Three Months' Service" is one of the ways the early responders (volunteers who served with Union units at the start of the American Civil War between April and July 1861) have been described since the 1860s. The capitalization is one of the style variants which has been used over the years (often by American researchers). Clarified the "they". 47thPennVols (talk) 14:17, 19 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
