A lot of content was copy-pasted, complete with transcription errors and without proper attribution, into this article, apparently from this page, which carries a copyright claim "Copyright 2009. All rights reserved"; the section was very properly blanked by Jerodlycett as a result.

However that content is, as the page says, actually taken from the History of Cumberland and Adams Counties, Pennsylvania, published in Chicago in 1886 by Warner, Beers. That's long before 1923, so the text is unequivocally in the public domain, and the USGenWeb Project has no possible grounds for claiming copyright. For what little it's worth, my personal view is that text written 130 years ago has no place in the encyclopaedia and the removal by Editorofthewiki should be allowed to stand. But that's just my opinion. If consensus is to restore it, proper attribution of the public domain source will be needed; the {{Source-attribution}} template is handy for that.
