Famous Visitors
Is this section really necessary? All it really shows are famous people who have been to the shop. It's not something that can ever be completed, and it doesn't seem particularly encycopaedic.

Other branches
Is Regent Street now the only branch of Hamleys? At one point (1980s or early 1990s?) Hamleys had several branches nationwide, and possibly some international branches too. 217.155.20.163 13:41, 26 December 2006 (UTC)

- There was a branch of Hamleys in George Street, Croydon, Surrey. I remember buying my sister a birthday present there in the early 80's. I've found a reference to it here, but no photos. --Panzer71 (talk) 16:35, 25 June 2010 (UTC)

The article claims the flagship store moved from no. 200 to its present location in 1981. This must be a mistake, because I clearly remember going to Hamleys on my first visit to London, in 1968, and every year since until 1975, and the store was where it stands today. No. 200 is the corner building where Jaeger is and already was on the 60's. L.Belard (talk) 17:48, 12 December 2013 (UTC)
Name
Hamleys? Or Hamley's? If its a posessive name, shouldn't it be Hamley's? Yet the official website says Hamleys. How... confusing. - Passing browser. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.34.94.153 (talk) 16:50, 28 September 2007 (UTC)
Other branches, and former branches?
I'm sure there was a branch in Newcastle at one point (late 80s), where the HMV store now is on Northumberland Street.
There's also a Hamleys outlet store at the "Designer Outlet" centre near York city centre. 217.155.20.163 (talk) 15:05, 15 February 2009 (UTC)
There was a big branch in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia that operated for a few years in teh late 90s early 2000s before going out of business. 78.33.162.105 (talk) 02:38, 1 September 2009 (UTC)
The article currently says they had a store in NYC, then later opened a store in the Middle East that is called 'their first store outside Europe'. Is New York City in Europe? 142.58.129.171 (talk) 16:30, 15 July 2013 (UTC)
Birmingham store
There used to be a Hamleys store in Birmingham on Corporation Street, floor 6 of what is now House of Frasier. Recently it appears to have closed, being replaced with HoF's own "Toytown" area which is much smaller. Wonder if anyone has any more to add on this / references etc.

Who owns Hamleys?
This article doesn't give any information of who currently owns Hamleys or its previous owners, which would be useful to know. The historical section stops at 1955... Hamleys website doesn't give any details either, and doesn't seem to have a historical background section either. Can anyone help? Thanks.--Stelmaris (talk) 14:18, 11 July 2012 (UTC)
- Agree it would be useful so have added some details. It is mainly controlled by Landsbanki but a committee of stakeholders also run it. They are in talks at the moment to sell it to Ludendo. --TBM10 (talk) 12:16, 12 July 2012 (UTC)
That's great, thanks for the info. Good edit, too. Do you happen to know from whom the Baugur Group bought it in 2003? What happened between 1955 and then? --Stelmaris (talk) 18:47, 12 July 2012 (UTC)
