Merge with Hague Conference on Private International Law

The more general article could use more detail on particular treaties, if this is one of the treaties that is part of the ongoing Hague Conference on Private International Law. --Drtillberg 03:25, 30 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The Hague Rules are not a part of the Hague Conference of Private International Law

These rules were adopted in a separate effort and should not be merged with the article on the HCPIL.

They also have a special weight as a topic in their own right, in the field of commercial/shipping law.

It is entirely unhelpful to merge the two. The maritime litigation aspect of the Hague Rules seperates it from the more general umbrella term proposed

The Hague rules is a maritime convention and has nothing to do with this article.
