Talk:Hag of the mist
Should this even exist? I'm feeling that, based on this user's history, it shouldn't be here.-----As said on this site, <i>The wii version will Have wii compatibility</i> (talk) 20:15, 3 March 2009 (UTC)
I had originally been tempted to list for deletion, but there is some evidence it is true. (Well, true in folklore anyway). It seems to be the Welsh equivilent of the Irish Banshee, being a wailing spirit that foretells death. I;ve added a better introduction to the subject, but it needs a lot more work. Will try over the next few days to get back to it.--Dmol (talk) 10:12, 4 March 2009 (UTC)
Fiction
[edit]This article mainly needs to be rewritten so that it is less of a story and more of an information-type report.169.204.69.185 (talk) 21:36, 4 March 2009 (UTC)
cleaned up
[edit]I've added a more encyclopedic intro, with references, and removed the nn cleanup and orphan tags. Added categories. Still not sure about the original paragraph that was added, and now has Sighting as its header, but have added a fact tag. Article should be ok for now, but as with all, could be improved.--Dmol (talk) 01:18, 5 March 2009 (UTC)
Merge
[edit]This and the Cyhyraeth are the same thing, and as Cyhyraeth is the better article, I suggest merging this into that. Sophie means wisdom (talk) 07:35, 3 October 2016 (UTC)
- Support merging Cyhyraeth content into Hag of the mist here, as sub-sections, leaving the current English title and lede as-is; making Cyhyraeth and Gwrach y Rhibyn redirects to Hag of the mist. Normally I prefer we go with the original-language names, but as two alternate names for similar beings (Cyhyraeth and Gwrach y Rhibyn) are given in the Cyhyraeth article, I think it's best we consolidate them as sections under the English umbrella name here on en-wiki. - CorbieV ☊ ☼ 20:34, 3 October 2016 (UTC)
- Is Hag of the dribble a useful term? That's what I've always known it as. Sophie means wisdom (talk) 17:30, 4 October 2016 (UTC)
- This article is first off a stub, and secondly near identical to the Cyhyraeth article. I see no good reason to keep this as a second article unless it is significantly expanded and improved. The language issue is a legitimate one, but can easily be fixed by redirecting and having the 'Hag of the Mist' as an alternative name in the description of Cyhyraeth. - No there are differences and also people know how to spell this title and the other ones are difficult and in another language.TeeVeeed (talk) 22:38, 28 October 2016 (UTC)
- On further reading (Bernhardt J. Hurwood's The Hag of the Dribble and Other True Ghosts from the Files of Elliot O'Donnell) I'm inclined to agree. The Cyhyraeth is described as a sound, rather than a ghost as such. Sophie means wisdom (talk) 09:57, 30 October 2016 (UTC)
