Untitled

[edit]

This is clearly the same person as Adrian Saravia. Suggest we merge into the anglicized version of the name. I am happy to have a go at a merge if no-one objects. footie 11:56, 30 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Date of birth

[edit]

As a result of merging the two articles on Adrian and Hadrian, there are some unresolved discrepancies in date of birth (carried over from discussion page of Adrian Saravia)

Do you have verification of year of birth? This seems to be one of the man differences between the two articles, one has 1531, the other 1532. --footie 15:41, 30 January 2006 (UTC)

  • The McClure book, which is not recent, actually has 1530. The 1911 Britannica has 1531. Project Canterbury (Denison, 1885) has 1532. When I get home I'll check the Nicolson book, which was my major recent source, and make sure 1532 isn't a typo on my part and see what his references are. --Dystopos 16:39, 30 January 2006 (UTC)
    • Just checked the Oxford DNB - it has early January 1532
  • I keep forgetting to check Nicolson. It sounds like Oxford DNB might be our most authoritative current source, and I'd be happy to use their dates. I'd still like to know which original sources have been in play to keep these dancing around so much. (Great work with the merge, by the way) --Dystopos 17:08, 3 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Date of death

[edit]

As a result of merging the two articles on Adrian and Hadrian, there are some unresolved discrepancies in date of death. The 1911 Britannica has 1613, other sources have 1612. --footie 16:52, 3 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Southampton

[edit]

Does the spelling "Southhampton" have some special significance, or can it be changed to "Southampton"? --Andreas Philopater (talk) 18:35, 26 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
