Notability
[edit]Hacia Dos Veranos is one the most notable post-rock band of Argentina, and the only one that released their work outside the country. (Which, for a musical genre that not popular at all, that's quite remarkable).
For example, the Gideon Coe's BBC show 6music used several tracks of Hacia Dos Veranos in his program.
In Google, the "Hacia Dos Veranos" string (and yes, I know that Google isn't a reliably source) throws up 31.400 results.
And, mainly... post-rock isn't a popular musical genre, but, popularity not necessary means relevance.
And if anyone, anywhere thinks "Are There any post-rock bands in Argentina?" or "If you say post-rock in Argentina, would people there know what you're talking about?"; here is the answer, here is the quintessence of post-rock in Argentina. An argentinian band, of a non popular genre (not here in Argentina, and not anywhere in the world), that went out of borders and landed in Europe.
And if you think that this is self promotion, that I have "personal interests" placing this article here; I invite you all to see my contributions in spanish Wikipedia. Under the subtitle "Música" you can see that I created (or severally edited) the majority of post-rock related articles in spanish Wikipedia. I've created the spanish equivalents articles of such bands like Godspeed You! Black Emperor, A Silver Mt. Zion, Do Make Say Think, God is an Astronaut, Explosions In The Sky, and the articles regarding their albums.
I'm not doing self-promotion here (I want to make this clear, in case you were wandering). I love post-rock, and as I'm just taking the time to create and maintain post-rock related articles in spanish Wikipedia, I wanted to give back a bit to english Wikipedia and create the article of a notable post-rock band that isn't present here yet.
And finally, yes, I'm aware that my english writing is quite far from good... what can I say?. I'm sorry, but I'm still learning. Cheers!. Kved 02:01, 18 October 2007 (UTC)
