0–100 km claims

[edit]

Example of car comparisims.

The F40's light weight of 1,100 kg (2,425 lb) and high power output of 478 PS (352 kW; 471 hp) at 7000 rpm gave the vehicle tremendous performance potential. Road tests have produced 0–100 km/h (0–62 mph) times as low as 3.8 seconds (while the track only version came in at 3.2 seconds), with 0–160 km/h (0–99 mph) in 7.6 seconds and 0–200 km/h (0–120 mph) in 11 seconds giving the F40 a slight advantage in acceleration over the Porsche 959, its primary competitor at the time.

The F40 was the first road legal production car to break the 200 mph (320 km/h) barrier. From its introduction in 1987 until 1989 its only competitors were the Porsche 959 and the 1988 Lamborghini Countach[citation needed] (it was later overtaken by the Lamborghini Diablo[8]), it held the record as the world's fastest production car, with a top speed of 201.4 mph (324 km/h). During the 2006 Bonneville Speed Week, Amir Rosenbaum of Spectre Performance managed to take his F40 with small boost and air intake modifications to 226 miles per hour (364 km/h)[[1]] — Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.217.72.181 (talk) 10:13, 13 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Claims/comparisims to other cars are fair game, just like any other artical. There is nothing wrong with factual clamis about the W427s standing compared to other cars. I sense a holden fan that cant accept facts about another car being faster. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.217.72.181 (talk) 09:10, 13 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

There has been a fair amount of vandalism on this page since it was linked from a popular forum. I will be removing all acceleration claims until someone finds a source for it. The last cited web page no longer exists.NJM2010 (talk) 04:06, 12 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe if you left all the xr6 turbo stuff out then you would not have this problem. The only Ford vehicle that is comparable to the W427 is the current GT R-Spec, — Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.165.126.65 (talk) 06:35, 12 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

There is no reason to put any Ford vehicle information on this article. This is about the HSV W427 only. Details on other cars belong on their own pages, not this one. --Falcadore (talk) 07:19, 12 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

and yet someone tried too create another page on the GT Rspec but yet you want too delete it?? why is that?? aren't we people that look up Wikipedia intitled too the truth?? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 101.169.85.61 (talk) 12:14, 14 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know a thing about an R-Spec page and I have not seen one and can not find one as there does not appear to be a deletion log under a article name I can think of for the car. If you look up the page under the name that it was created under you should be able to call up the deletion log which will tell you who deleted it and why. --Falcadore (talk) 15:02, 14 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
OK, found it. Base on edit history there were legitimate grounds for deletion based on the author creating two identical articles with different names. So claims of a witch-hunt are groundless. However the quality of the article is poor and it should probably be merged into the Falcon GT article. --Falcadore (talk) 15:29, 14 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
