HSO "Homeostatic Soil Organisms" should be included here. http://www.crohns.net/Miva/education/articles/HSO_GroundUp.shtml

It cured my Ulcerative Colitis and there are tons of references in the medical community to it, so there shouldn't be any problems backing up the facts about HSO. I'm actually quite surprised WikiPedia doesn't have an entry for it.

Homeostatic Soil Organisms (HSO)

[edit]

Homeostatic Soil Organisms (or HSOs) contains an organic formulation of healthy probiotic bacterias found in soil and may have advantages over non-HSO probiotic formulas due to their ability to withstand digestion and implant and survive in the gut.

Prior to the onset of today's modern lifestyle, and prior to, in the words of the famous Dental Epidemiologist Dr. Weston Price, the "Diet of Commerce", it has been postulated that HSOs were ingested by human beings as part and parcel of their normal dietary intake, prior to the sanitizing of food products as occurs today in most Western countries.

The value of HSOs reportedly lies in promoting positive intestinal function, with corresponding systemic improvements in the patient's overall nutritional, immunological and gastrointestinal status.

As reported in Homeostatic Soil Organisms as a treatment for chronic disease conditions —- A pilot study by Dr. Paul Goldberg. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.65.19.77 (talk) 03:46, 3 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
