Why is the first engine power "bhp" and the second "BHP"? For consistency, both should be one or the other! It seems that the former (lower case) is preferred ... I have yet to find an instance of "BHP". Incidentally, the Concise Oxford Dictionary gives "b.h.p." as the short form of "brake horsepower".
