Why is there an article on a Dutch Navy ship in Wikipedia?

The "Zuiderkruis" is named after the Southern Cross constellation. Which is also the ship's emblem.
Is it is generally known as a supply ship rather than a "replenishment ship".
The third ship with this name was originally an American Victory ship and was built around 1944.
The current ship is the fourth to have this name and is expected to leave active service in 2014.
The "Zuiderkruis" will be replaced by a Joint Support Ship or JSS.
The "Zuiderkruis" is currently stationed in the Caribbean.
Bremerton is the home of the Navy dockyard near Seattle.
Women from Bremerton are referred to as "Bremelosauruses".

Background

My father was a Navy officer in the Royal Netherlands Air Services (MLD), one of his best friends was the commanding officer of the third "Zuiderkruis".
Larry Pauls, a nautical engineer, was a good friend in Seattle and lived in Bremerton for a while.
