Pennant number?
[edit]FY673 is most likely a fishing boat registration. FY standing for Filey, 673 being the 673rd boat registered there as a fishing boat. Mjroots (talk) 09:00, 20 December 2008 (UTC)
- No, it's the naval rather than the civilian designation. FY was the flag superior assigned to the wartime auxiliary fishing vessels, whalers and related vessels. It doesn't have anything particularly to do with where she was based in peacetime or the order of her registration at a port. Benea (talk) 09:24, 20 December 2008 (UTC)
