I'll do this review. --Starstriker7(Talk) 07:29, 7 December 2011 (UTC)
Criterion 1
[edit]- "Royal Navy seaplane carrier of the First World War" - during the First World War?
- "She had been built in 1905 by Armstrong Whitworth" - She was built in 1905
- "One of her Bristol Scout aircraft made the first take-off from an aircraft carrier in late 1915 and another made the first interception of an airship by a carrier-based aircraft in mid-1916 when it unsuccessfully attacked the Zeppelin L. 17" - The sentence feels cumbersome. I feel that breaking it into two after "1915", and then adding a comma between "mid-1916" and "when" should fix the issue.
- Mention in the lead that she was scrapped in 1954. Also mention that she was requisitioned again for a while.
- "bombs, but eight failed to take-off, one hit the mast of an escorting destroyer and one had to return due to engine trouble." - Change the comma between "take-off" and "one" to a semicolon, and add a semicolon between "destroyer" and "and".
- The first change is fine, but the second one doesn't work.
- Is it feasible to redline "Zeppelin L. 17"?
- Linked in the lede.
- "explosive Ranken darts; the first" - Replace the semicolon with a comma.
- "was aborted by fog" - was aborted because of fog.
- "Malta[8] in 1918 where" - Comma between "1918" and "where".
- "proved to be too expensive[9] and sold back" - Either insert a "she was" before sold back, or break it up into two sentences.
- Instead of saying "but not as the HMS Vindex, mention its new name (which I presume is the Viking).
- None of my sources mention her new name.
- "in 1945 and finally sold for scrapping in 1954." - Insert a "was" before "finally".
- The name information is not in the lead, but as with the Amagi, I think it will be okay. However, do you have a citation for the name information in the lead?
- Added.
All done. Thanks for the review.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 20:20, 7 December 2011 (UTC)
- Just a note that I commented on this article on the talk page, relating to unreferenced sentences in the lead relating to the ship's service as a ferry to the Isle of Man. Harrias talk 22:59, 7 December 2011 (UTC)
- Just had another look: I'm guessing that this is actually covered by Gardiner? It still seems odd to have it mentioned in the lead, but not later in the article though. Harrias talk 23:05, 7 December 2011 (UTC)
- I've pulled that info out of the lede and moved into the service section with a cite.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 04:49, 8 December 2011 (UTC)
- Excellent. Now that this has been resolved, I will pass the article. --Starstriker7(Talk) 05:33, 8 December 2011 (UTC)
