[edit]Anybody out there that can help me ... It would be greatly appreciated.
I have in my posession 2photographs and a newspaper article.
The 1st photograph is an original picture of the HMS Dorsetshire ... The 2nd photograph is an original of a fighter plane with the word Gammett or Gamnett written on the back.
The newspaper article which is also and original is from a newspaper called the NEWS CHRONICLE Wednesday May 28 1941 HEADLINE: BISMARCK THE FIRST FULL STORY
I understand that the HMS Dorsetshire played a part in the sinking of the Bismarck but do not know more than that.
There is also 2pieces of paper with these pictures and on them is information on HMS Dorsetshire and the guns that she had on board ... the day she launched and where she launched from ... the day she sank ... who sank her and whereabous she sank. It also has the Captains name CAPTAIN A.W.S AGAR VC, DSO
Anybody who can help please.
Thankyou

- If you're still interested, HMS Dorsetshire (40), Augustus Agar and Last battle of the battleship Bismarck will tell you more. The aircraft in question is probably the Fairey Gannet, a Second World War era fighter used by the Fleet Air Arm, though not off cruisers like the Dorsetshire, but rather aircraft carriers. I don't believe the Gannet flew against the Bismarck, and it was certainly Fairey Swordfish, rather than Gannets, which scored the crucial hits. Benea (talk) 20:42, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
