Update

I took this off because I cannot find it verified anywhere.

The seventh HMNZS Achilles (CV-60), was renamed in honour of Achilles, and is an ex- American supercarrier (ex-USS Saratoga)in the service of the Royal New Zealand Navy.

Best I could find on the Saratoga was this: "Currently, SARATOGA is berthed in Newport, RI. She will probably be used as a museum ship." from here. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 222.153.37.199 (talk • contribs) 23:56, 19 August 2006

There is an HMS Achilles listed as being present at the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805. The closest match on the list in this article is the 60 gun Fourth Rate that is said to have been sold in 1784. If it really was sold off how did it end up in Nelson's fleet at Trafalgar? 24.82.7.81 (talk) 00:25, 8 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This is a common mistake, the ship at Trafalgar was the similarly named HMS Achille (1798), using, ironically as it would turn out, the French version of the name Achilles. Benea (talk) 21:11, 31 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
