Merge with AHIP

[edit]

HIAA has since been renamed to AHIP. 24.14.94.254 22:48, 24 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, HIAA and AAHP (The American Association of Health Plans) merged and formed AHIP. AAHP was itself the result of a merger between the old HMO trade association - Group Health Association of America (GHAA) - and the American Managed Care and Review Association (AMCRA) which represented IPA-type HMOs and PPOs. HIAA (The Health Insurance Association of America) mostly represented for-profit health insurance companies, many of which were also memebers of AAHP. Thus, the four main trade associations in the health insurance and managed care industries are now one.Pkongstvedt 00:51, 6 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
