Removed the reference to Uusimaa. If historically, linguistically or culturally related neighboring areas are to be included, I suggest Uusimaa will not remain the only one. – Jippe (talk) 16:46, 28 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation page

[edit]

I don't think this page should be categorized as a disambiguation page. According to the instructions, a "disambiguation page lists articles about distinct geographical locations with the same name". However, this page is not really about distinct locations. Granted, geographically Häme can be divided into sub-regions and its borders have shifted over time, but the name always refers to the same general area, with Tavastia Proper in its core. – Simo Kaupinmäki (talk) 18:03, 8 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. It is an article about Häme. I have removed the {{disambiguation}} tag (and the subsequent clean-up suffix); removed the Wikiproject Disambiguation banner from this page and replaced it with Wikiproject Finland, and posted a note at that project. The essence of Häme could perhaps best be understood starting from the oldest history and ending with the newest phenomena as the continuity for sure has been there all the time. And to be sure, the name Saami originally is the same word as Häme. But to better understand this, the first thing perhaps would be to turn the temporal order of the list upside down.--Urjanhai (talk) 22:45, 4 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
