Dear Morphh: I think I added the project tag to this article simply because Helvering's main claim to fame (at least in my eyes) is that he was an IRS Commissioner when some leading tax cases were decided by the U.S. Supreme Court. Back then, instead of filing a tax refund lawsuit as, say, Famspear v. United States, you would have filed it as Famspear v. Helvering.
In retrospect, I guess maybe that in and of itself arguably might not be enough. If you think the article should be removed from the Taxation project, I would go along with that. Or, maybe I can do some looking around and see if the "tax" aspect of Helvering can be expanded in the article?? Famspear (talk) 18:39, 18 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Either way.. I'll leave it to you. I just happen to notice it and I didn't see anything regarding taxes in the article.. so I thought I'd ask the question at least. :-) Morphh(talk)20:29, 18 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
OK. I will try to see if I can find some sources on Helvering with respect to his tenure as Commissioner of Internal Revenue. Yours, Famspear (talk) 20:40, 18 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
