What Wikipedia is for

This article is an interesting case study in what a Wikipedia article should or shouldn't be. There's some biographical material that really would be more appropriate for a family-maintained memorial tribute page. (Yosemite trips, the one child's piano proficiency, etc.) And yet as a former student of Prof. Sircello's (late 80s/early 90s), I appreciated learning things about him I hadn't known. Having profited from that "doesn't belong" material, I couldn't justify cutting it. Knorlin (talk) 09:16, 5 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
