Hi other contributors. I got sucked in and tried to wikify the article and add references. I still haven't been able to find a reference for his involvement in BCON or the setting up of the Yarraridge pottery. The fact that Betty is selling pottery made from Gus's designs is acknowledged on eBay so I think this is OK to say without having a reference. I'm not sure what Wikipedia policy is about adding a picture from a private collection. Happy to have it removed if it's not appropriate. --Drofe 22:18, 22 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

References to military service matters (e.g. BCON) are easily verified by going to the Australian War Memorial web-site and checking the Nominal Roll. The entry for William George McLaren makes it quite clear that at the point of discharge he was with the Press Unit in BCOF, having served with them in Japan, and earlier with the AIF in the Pacific War. Yarraridge pottery was established as a joint venture by Betty and Gus McLaren, and Betty was from early times the primary producer of pottery from the Yarraridge Warrandyte Pottery while Gus was producing his one-off studio pieces. She took the Yarraridge moulds and brand with her to her Merimbula pottery and continues to produce there from the joint designs as well as from her own. Further details are available from the Mclaren-pottery website (since listed on the entry) which now contains a substantial piece from Betty's descriptions of her technique.
