"Dude, you're next."
[edit]In the episode "Speak Now or Forever Hold Your Piece", Gus catches the bouquet that Lacey attempts to get away with (With the missing ring inside), prompting Shawn to say this line. Later, in There's Something About Mira, Gus has already been married technically, but is there anyway we can work that in somewhere? I'm just no good at editing and references and the likes. - Well, his marriage to Mira is already mentioned. I don't think the "dude, you're next" line is especially relevant, given that it's obviously just a throwaway joke. Shoemoney2night (talk) 00:51, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
Not the line itself. I just mean that certain part where Gus gets the bouquet, signifying in superstition or something that the person who catches the Bouquet is "set" to be the next to wed. Ironic, since he was already married (And divorced) by that time. I just used that title.. Because I needed something catchy or good. Funny. One-liner. The whole she-bang. Music is life. Live it fun. - Yep, I understand what you were getting at, I just don't think it particularly signifies anything in this context - it was just a nice, silly way to wrap up the theft plot. Shoemoney2night (talk) 22:44, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
Maybe. Did Steve Franks write There's Something About Mira? If so, there's a small connection. I know Steve Franks does half of everything to Psych, but come on! It's something. I... Sense it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by MaximillianRiese (talk • contribs) 00:00, 1 March 2008 (UTC)
- Actually, the episode was written by Josh Bycel and Daniel Hsia. I think generally the writers/creators of TV shows think about these things a lot less than we fans seem to think they do. Shoemoney2night (talk) 02:00, 1 March 2008 (UTC)
Oh. Sorry. Well, it was worth a shot. Music is life. Live it fun. Listen to Ska! (talk) 19:06, 1 March 2008 (UTC)
Headline text
[edit]How exactly does one spell the name "Lemongrass Gogulope, anyway?" --68.109.28.225 (talk) 16:30, 21 July 2008 (UTC)
The Car
[edit]The Toyota is also a company car. This reference is made in several episodes including the one where they investigate some sort of chop shop and get the car "souped up" as part of their investigation. 24.188.207.20 (talk) 05:16, 10 November 2009 (UTC)
- It's also mentioned in the season one episode "9 Lives" when the cat is in the front seat, and Gus asks Shawn to put down newspaper so he can return the company car in like-new condition.Lorddragyn (talk) 04:32, 8 May 2010 (UTC)
Nicknames
[edit]Would it be better to (rather than list in the infobox) have a section on, or make note of the nicknames? They were previously listed in the infobox, but they were removed recently. It's something that is mildly important to the show, and would be interesting to some readers. Kevinbrogers (talk) 00:25, 30 November 2010 (UTC)
- It should be mention that they always go by strange names and list a couple as examples, but they are just too many to list them all. JDDJS (talk) 03:22, 30 November 2010 (UTC)
Personally, I feel that those names are important to the show and that the list the should be kept on the page and continually updated like it has been by Psych's loyal followers. I think that having a section for the names could be a good idea, as long as it is not just a big jumbled list. Putting them in the infobox restricts the line length and makes them a bit easier to read (emphasis on a bit). But if someone could make a nice, neat section to put them in, I am all for that! If nobody add a reference soon, I think the nicknames should be removed. It is still not needed. A note about the nicknames and maybe like one or two as an example should remain but thats it. JDDJS (talk) 16:21, 31 December 2010 (UTC)
Move to Gus (Psych)
[edit]I think WP:COMMONNAME applies here. An identical situation exists at Puck (Glee). In both cases, everybody calls them by their nickname, and because of their nickname being part of their last name, it doesn't work to add both of them. Any thoughts before I officially submit it? The result of the move request was: page moved per request. The only opposition below seems to be based on the old title being "easy to find". However, the new title is equally easy to find, especially with redirects in place. - GTBacchus(talk) 20:11, 12 January 2011 (UTC)
Burton Guster → Gus (Psych) —I think WP:COMMONNAME applies here. An identical situation exists at Puck (Glee). In both cases, everybody calls them by their nickname, and because of their nickname being part of their last name, it doesn't work to add both of them.--JDDJS (talk) 22:02, 2 January 2011 (UTC)
- I'm going to have to vote no, simply because this article is already easy to find. I do think, however, a redirect from "Gus (Psych)" to this page would be a good idea. Kevinbrogers (talk) 01:03, 3 January 2011 (UTC)
- Move but keep Burton Guster as a redirect. WP:COMMONNAME definitely applies here. Even avid Psych fans such as myself don't always remember Gus' real name. --- cymru.lass (hit me up)⁄(background check) 06:23, 3 January 2011 (UTC)

- This article title really doesn't make any sense. We have James T. Kirk even though everyone calls him Jim. We have Leonard McCoy even though nobody calls him Leonard - ever. Perhaps the most on point, we have Montgomery Scott even though everyone calls him Scotty. --B (talk) 05:10, 14 January 2013 (UTC)
