[edit]I'm using the DISPLAYTITLE syntax but I still can't get Nevada to have a capital N. How do I fix this?
Contested deletion
[edit]This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because Guns of Nevada is a notable band in the Seattle area. They have played some major festivals locally, had music featured on TV shows, and are really making it. They're definitely more notable than most of the bands around here. I'm not associated with the bad in any way, I just wanted to make a page for them. I read all the guides and made sure I was doing things right.
and I guess if I'm not doing it right I'll go back and revise the article more to point out why they are notable more than I already have, I guess its all up to you. - Hello Vanwlba! For a band to have an article, (1) Has a notable band member, (2) Is support band for a notable musician or otherwise associated with them, (3) Is signed to a label with a Wikipedia entry or to a label that is part of such a label, (4) Claims to have charted in national charts, no matter which country, (5) Has received airplay on larger radio stations, (6) Has won awards. Please visit or see WP:NM or WP:BAND to be aware of the criterion for a band to have an article. As I am saying to other editors with the same reasons, please use Help:Userspace draft. This draft will be created in your username space and intended to go into Wikipedia as a proper article in the future. Because as an article that is stub, unsourced, or has any problems, it is prone to tags, proposed deletions or worse, speedy deletions. Please double check your article before introducing it to the mainspace. This is good because you can take your time on building you article and as soon as the article is ready and solid enough to be introduced, you can now launched the artcile into the mainspace where the articles reside. - While Mediran is correct, speedy deletion can only occur in the most obvious cases. I've declined the speedy deletion request, instead tagging it as possibly non-notable. The best thing would be to add additional sources that discuss the band. Currently, their best claim to notability is having had a song on a national TV show; that may be sufficient, but more coverage would certainly shore up the article.
