James Bell

[edit]

James Bell (elected for Guildford 1852) married Mary Ann Spencer and lived at of Fawe Park, Keswick, Cumberland. They changed their names to Spencer-Bell by licence on 29 January 1866, according to the London Gazette 2 February 1866, page 585 of issue 23065. Vernon White . . . I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Guildford (UK Parliament constituency)'s orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 13:00, 30 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

1900 by-election

[edit]

Is there a reason that candidate in the list of one here is in bold? I didn't want to change it in case being unopposed makes the text bold for some reason.. -- SGBailey (talk) 22:07, 18 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Just noticed that it also applies to other unopposed elections. Seems strange, but I guess it is intentional. -- SGBailey (talk) 22:09, 18 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
