yes, the 'guidepost' is an advertising/exposure article for a magazine.

what would be the article for 'playboy' ?

this is a response to a link on the 'guidepost' page to suggest a separate area within this great site to identify such information for periodicals/magazines/print articles. perhaps a single quote would segregate the items ?

Reference note # 4 goes to an advertisement. I'm deleting it. Rags (talk) 09:45, 30 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I am also replacing some info deleted in an effort to elim "bias". I am all for NPOV. Please rewrite, instead of deleting. Thanks. Rags (talk) 10:45, 30 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Editing article

[edit]

I plan to do a major edit of the article, since it is now tagged as reading like an advertisement. I'm considering deleting the names and descriptions of the numerous devotionals and Bible resources, and just state that there are many available. Does anyone have an objection to that? It may be worth while to list the names of all of the magazines now published, though I don't know if I can find a source for that, other than the Guidepost website. No objection from me to the deletions - they read directory-like at the moment and are unsourced. Thanks for taking this on. Tacyarg (talk) 07:56, 5 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Though I did not enjoy doing so I just deleted close to half of the article. Much of it read as advertising, and most was not referenced. I was able to add several additional sources, plus I left a few unreferenced sentences because I didn't have the heart to remove everything that was problematic. I spent a couple hours looking for good references, but found few sources beyond the official Guideposts website and some bloggers, and those weren't acceptable by Wikipedia standards.
