Kwukyel
[edit]Kwukyel redirects here without explanation. Is it just a different spelling? If so, the article should note that. The Wiktionary lemma on the topic mentions something of a phonetic way to write Korean. How did it work? 82.139.87.215 (talk) 00:03, 17 August 2009 (UTC)
I imagine Kwukyel is a poor transliteration of the Korean word. What I'm more interested in is the Doosan Encyclopedia entry that is linked as an external link but seems to not exist anymore. Like all entries, it would be nice to see some of the content translated over from the Korean entry into the English entry. Matthew smith 254 (talk) 03:10, 22 March 2010 (UTC)
Kwukyel is Yale romanization of Korean, which is the standard in Korean linguistics. Sanxiyn (talk) 16:13, 1 March 2021 (UTC)
Example Gugyeol
[edit]Placing some example Gugyeol here. Note that most are located within CJK Unified Ideographs, Extension A, within Unicode. Some appear to incorporate hangul or hangul-like motifs. Some may not necessarily be phonetic characters, but rather characters for native Korean words and terms. Wiktionary gives various explanations for some, such as "place name", "personal name", etc. See also wikt:Category:Korean-only CJKV Characters and wikt:kwukyel. This is by no means an exhaustive, nor accurate, list.
