Article name
[edit]Is Grouville Hoard the official name for this hoard? It's not the first hoard to be found in Grouville. The Le Catillon hoard found in 1957, was also in Grouville. Danrok (talk) 16:14, 27 June 2012 (UTC)
- No, but it was choice between that and the even vaguer "Jersey Hoard". When the exact location is made known and/or the hoard gains an official name then we can move the article if appropriate. BabelStone (talk) 17:34, 27 June 2012 (UTC)
Photo
[edit]I've added a photo of a field in Grouville - better than nothing, until we have a photo of the hoard. Danrok (talk) 13:28, 5 July 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks. I like the photo, and it is certainly better than nothing. BabelStone (talk) 00:38, 11 July 2012 (UTC)
- Have taken some pics of the hoard. Not great quality, but useful I hope. News: the hoard has been declared treasure trove and vested in the Crown - it is planned to put the hoard in its current state on public display briefly in September before separation and conservation work begins in earnest. So there may be an opportunity for better photographers to have a go at it then. Man vyi (talk) 14:24, 26 July 2012 (UTC)
Quantity of coins
[edit]Current estimate is 70,000 coins. See [1] Danrok (talk) 13:39, 10 July 2012 (UTC)
- I've updated the estimate to 70,000 in the Contents section, but kept a range of estimates in the lead. BabelStone (talk) 00:40, 11 July 2012 (UTC)

Progress Updates?
[edit]Recently did a research project on the hoard and I noticed that this article hasn't been updated. The hoard has since been dissected, and documented extensively. Should the page be updated with the new findings? If nobody's on it already, I can contribute. --Magmadragons (talk) 20:55, 24 September 2019 (UTC)
