The following unsigned comment was left on my talk page which I assume belongs here: "In Australia the term GVM is used. Please DO NOT merge the GVM entry with GVW entry, as it will leave Australians out."[1] Roslyn Knight — Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.178.122.31 (talk) 01:02, 30 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
The above comment on may talk page as prompted me to complete the merge. Needless to say, the Australians (and Europeans) will not be left out. The combined article carries both terms in the lead and it is conventional to have one article for one concept, even if there are different terms used around the world for it. See Sidewalk for an extreme example of this. PeterEastern (talk) 04:33, 30 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Under the section "United States", shouldn't the following line "Vehicles over the 8,500 lb threshold are required to have insurance under Section 387.303 of the Motor Carrier Act of 1980." instead read "Commercial vehicles over 8,500 lb threshold are required to have insurance under Section 387.303 of the Motor Carrier Act of 1980."?
I drive a Ford F-450 DWL with a GVWR of 14,500 lbs. It is a class 4 medium duty truck. I use it to pull my 5th wheel camper. I am not required to carry insurance based on the Motor Carrier Act of 1980 because the vehicle is used for uses "other than commercial".Wsshuey (talk) 00:31, 7 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
