Overview
[edit]- I'll take this on as part of the Wikipedia:WikiProject_Good_articles/GAN_Backlog_Drives/January_2022. Mujinga (talk) 00:01, 6 January 2022 (UTC)
- I've made some comments below and will put the review on hold for now Mujinga (talk) 00:43, 6 January 2022 (UTC)
- Nice one Chiswick Chap, I think we are nearly there now. I just had a query if Favoriten needs to be italicized, seems like it is in German but not in English, and there's two new references which need English title translations, right now they are 12 and 13. Mujinga (talk) 08:35, 7 January 2022 (UTC)
- Since Favoriten is a name, we do not italicise it; if it was just a German word, we'd use a lang tag which would put it into italics. Added two trans-titles.
- Great we are in agreement then, nice working with you, this is now a good article and best wishes for 2022 Mujinga (talk) 10:49, 7 January 2022 (UTC)

Good Article review progress box
|
- First off this article is quite short at 3463 characters (572 words) of "readable prose size" but this isn't necessarily a problem to be a good article.
- Noted.
- In terms of broadness I am concerned to find details in this article about her helping Jewish friends in the war and the moving to London and onto USA, so I'd suggets seeing if the article can be expanded a bit.
- Added and cited.
- An earwig copyvio check gives no probs, the references are decent and reliable. No OR, no editwars on the article and it presents the facts objectively.
- Noted.
- Can you give en translations of the titles of the refs which right now are 6 and 8?
- Done.
- The lead should summarise the article more I would say; would be nice to have a full paragraph here.
- Done.
- Infobox is good but gives mdy dates whereas the article is dmy, so that needs to be resolved
- Fixed.
Early life
[edit]- suggest adding 9 December to birth
- Done.
- "his wife Rosa nee Ratkovsky" suggest "his wife Rosa (née Ratkovsky)".
- Done.
- does 'Fenella' need the single apostrophes?
- Removed.
Career
[edit]- Her dramatic and ecstatic[1] choreography of the dance with "swirling, euphoric movement and suspended arches of the body",[4] the dancers "with unbound hair and swinging dresses",[2] made her a leading figure in Austrian dance.[4][2][7] - in this sentence it's a bit confusing because there are two direct quotes from presumably different people so can you rephrase to show who is commenting?
- Done.
- She called her approach "spherical dance" - is this a direct quote from her in the NYT (which I can't access)?
- Yes.
- Does "Donauwalzer" need apostrophes? (I don't know if it's a song)
- It was a dance; I've called it "Danube waltzes" which is what it means in English and provided the original tagged as German language.
- Thanks for clarification Mujinga (talk) 08:32, 7 January 2022 (UTC)

- "In 1912–1914, she led in the three" does this mean she was lead dancer?
- Yes.
- "pause in her career for the First World War" suggest "pause in her career during the First World War"
- Edited.
- Suggest moving the sentence "After a pause in her career " to make a paragraph with the previous sentence
- Done.
- Could give a de wiki link for Cabaret Fledermaus
- Done.
Pictures
[edit]- Suggest putting the pix under a heading such as Gallery
- Added caption above the gallery.
- all licenses ok, including pic in infobox
- Noted.
Family life and legacy
[edit]- This section could be one paragraph
- Done.
- She is "revered" - does revered need to be in apostrophes?
- Removed.
- In 2020, Gunhild Oberzaucher-Schüller described her dance on Tanz.at as "ever present" - suggest rephrasing along the lines of Writing on Tanz.at in 2020, Gunhild Oberzaucher-Schüller described her dance as "ever present"
- Done.
- "In 1981 a street in Vienna's Favoriten district was named Wiesenthalgasse after her" needs a citation or should be chopped
- Reffed.
Works
[edit]- I'd suggesting making this selected works and deleting some entries and referencing what's left, since otherwise it could easly have spam additions. Also it's strange right now that only one entry is cited.
- Renamed to "Works created" and added refs. At this distance in time I think spam entries are unlikely (and there were none throughout 2021).
- Fair enough Mujinga (talk) 08:32, 7 January 2022 (UTC)
