I've reworded the description of Blackstock as an "outsider artist" and replaced it with the phrase "self-taught artist" on request of Greg Kucera, the owner of the gallery who helped popularize Blackstock's work and represented him beginning in 2012. We discussed the article via email and Kucera shared his concerns about the term "outsider artist," saying "I think that Gregory's work should not be ghettoized there within the pejorative." I think it's a reasonable point and hope future edits will respect that perspective, at least keeping that descriptor out of the lead paragraph. (I have, however, kept the "Outsider artists" category on the page to aid in discoverability.) Skvader (talk) 16:22, 21 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
