[edit]See [1] for verification that it is considered a city. Can anyone fill in the history of this place? Cadillac 23:09, 22 April 2006 (UTC)
- Gonna try; just haven't had much time yet; will use Ghost Towns of BC and BC placenames to help write/expand stub at least
Presumably the history would include (among other things):
"Gold Rush" origins Ore discoveries Mine establishments "They say there were more saloons than any other buildings in the early days" Smelter construction/operation including railway networks Town Founder Robert Wood WW2 Japanese interment Labor Day Celebrations (Beautiful BC Magazine www.bcmag.ca Summer 1965 did a story on Greenwood featuring amazing Japanese floats in Labor Day parade) Significant landmarks(smelter), historical buildings(post office, city hall, churches, some homes), etc: description, photo, etc Apparently there was a serious elaborate plan to drill into the mountain to the east to get at the copper under the Pheonix mine
Should the following be included?
Links to current and historical federal and provincial political ridings and elected representitives? Links to any other levels of governance beyond municipal (eg school board, school district 13, etc)? List of current and historical municipal officials? Significant accomplishments and contriversial issues? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.240.184.111 (talk) 05:48, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
