Fan Following
[edit]Would it not be useful to mention the two major fan groups the Park has:
Friends of Greenwich Park - http://www.friendsofgreenwichpark.org.uk/ and Greenwich Park on Facebook - http://www.facebook.com/ThePark
The 2nd of which has over 17,000 fans. Seems like to big a number not to mention.

Photo Gallery
[edit]Is it really necessary to have so many photos of the park?
Specifically, how does an out of focus picture of a suirrel benefit the article?

Yes, but only if they are relevant. Expitheta 15:20, 7 January 2007 (UTC)
The squirrel picture is awesome.
Greenwich park squirrels are lovely! The pic is highly representative of the park, IMO.

History and Features sections: What about the Roman remains?
[edit]Are there no sources out there to enable us to add a reference to the Roman remains within the park yet? All I know of it is that 'Time Team' took down the protective railings around the 'pile of bricks' (as passers by described them) so they could do some geophysics and dug a few trenches looking for traces of a Roman road. They reckoned that Watling Street is aligned directly towards the antiquity and actually has to make a turn to point towards the (supposed) position of their river crossing, which is further upstream. They came to the conclusion that there may have been a mansio (temple) there at one time. Although the dig was some years ago (1999, screened in 2000), I guess it takes a few years to filter through peer-review into the archaeological journals and a few years more before any reference books come to mention it?
If that's the case, can anyone tell me whether the Channel 4 Time Team website is rated as a reliable source or not? (Note: in 2003 they came again, looking for Henry VIII's tilt-yard at a site close to the RN College but that's another story). EatYerGreens (talk) 23:22, 8 April 2009 (UTC)
- came here for the same reason. 10 ys later still not mentioned. Here is an official source: www.royalparks.org.uk/parks/greenwich-park/things-to-see-and-do/ancient-greenwich/roman-remains 47.71.2.160 (talk) 10:39, 14 November 2018 (UTC)
Marathon
[edit]Surely there should be something about the London marathon starting here? --The penfool 18:09, 4 July 2011 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by The penfool (talk • contribs)
