Merge with Greensand perhaps. --Wetman 7 July 2005 06:18 (UTC)

wikipedia seems to suggest 'green sand' is a type of mineral, whereas 'green sand' is the casting sand variety. . . disambiguation? --Meawoppl 22:05, 21 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Merger with Molding sand

[edit]

I think the two article should be merged, they cover, more or less, the same topic. I don't think I've heard sand called molding sand but I have heard casting sand. Iepeulas 13:01, 5 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Merging the two articles is not a good idea. Green sand (foundry) is a subset of molding sand. Molding sand can be Green sand, chemical bonded sands, unbonded sand (for example the V-Process uses molding sand with no binding agent at all) or even molding sand can be made from oil bonded sand, for example PetroBond (TM). For this reason addditional articles could be created or else sections added to the Molding sand article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mfields1 (talkcontribs) 00:18, 2 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have merged the Green Sand into the molding sand article as green sand is a type of molding sand and there isn't enough info to justify two articles.Iepeulas (talk) 00:47, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
