GA Reassessment
[edit]Article (edit | visual edit | history) · Article talk (edit | history) · Watch
- The article is based on doubtful resources like [1] (18 references) or [2] instead of essential freely accessible studies like [3]
- It mixes data for all kiwis with this particular species like:
- "declined 90% since 1900" - the source doesn't work, scientists from DOC stated it's hard to determine + say that the kiwi disappeared perhaps from only 30 % of its former range
- "Relationships in the genus Apteryx" is not right (again, based on [4]), see [5] for the correct phylogeny
- All the data like "Thanks to intensive trapping and poisoning efforts the chick survival rate has been raised to about 60% in areas where mammalian pest control is undertaken" needs a better source than stated

- @Podzemnik: You right to close this? AIRcorn (talk) 21:45, 22 October 2020 (UTC)
- @Aircorn: I'm not sure what it means but sure. --Podzemnik (talk) 21:52, 22 October 2020 (UTC)
- Individual reassessments are supposed to be closed by the person opening them. If you still think it needs to be delisted you can do this yourself (plenty of time has been given to fix the article). If you need help to do this just let me know. AIRcorn (talk) 21:55, 22 October 2020 (UTC)
- No offense, but did it not occur to anyone to notify relevant wikiprojects (e.g. WP:BIRD) that this article was in jeopardy of losing its GA status? I just checked the project's talk archives, and there's nothing there in May/June/July of 2020 saying this needed work. I just happened to stumble across this today, looking for something completely unrelated! MeegsC (talk) 16:47, 28 January 2021 (UTC)

Despite the lack of notifications, in a few days this will have been open for a year, which feels long enough to be seen. Podzemnik, to confirm, do you still believe this fails GA requirements? If so, this should be closed as delist. CMD (talk) 15:31, 19 May 2021 (UTC)
- Noting that the specific problems listed by Podzemnik remain, closing this as a delist. CMD (talk) 14:37, 31 May 2021 (UTC)
