Use?
[edit]What is it used for? The UK seal page lists uses, to what extent is the Scottish seal 'second best' - alternatively is the UK seal actually only in practice for England and Wales? StrumStrumAndBeHanged 13:49, 29 July 2007 (UTC)
List of Keepers
[edit]IMO the only part of the list that should be edited at this article is from 1707 to 1885; the earlier and later lists should be a cross-reference to or transclusion of the lists at Lord Chancellor/Scottish Secretary/First Minister. Lord Chancellor of Scotland says "Holders of the office are known from 1123 onwards, but its duties were occasionally performed by an official of lower status with the title of Keeper of the Great Seal." The list of Lord Chancellors there disagrees with the list of pre-1707 Keepers of the Great Seal here. It would seem there was never a Lord Chancellor and separate Keeper simultaneously. It would be simplest to include Lord Keepers in the list of Lord Chancellors (obviously distinguishing the two types). jnestorius(talk) 09:04, 16 March 2020 (UTC)
