[edit]I have created redirect pages to link here: G.I.P. Railway G. I. P. Railway GIP Railway and applied them to a few pages. Perhaps someone feels like searching for these and linking them. PJTraill (talk) 22:49, 23 January 2014 (UTC)
- I meant GIP railway — sorry! PJTraill (talk) 22:51, 23 January 2014 (UTC)
Dates query
[edit]According to the article, the Great Indian Peninsula Railway Company was incorporated in August 1849, under an act of parliament passed in the same year; but had already, 2 years previously in August 1847, entered into a contract to build the first section of line. Is that really true? I suppose the company might have existed in some informal sense before its formal incorporation, but I wonder whether there might be an error here. Can anyone clarify?
