Settlement barrier

It's rather well-known that the crops that the Bantu peoples brought with them in their migrations from the north did not allow them to establish long-term successful agricultural settlements to the southwest of the river. Even if this is only approximately true (with complications and qualifications), it's still culturally important, and should be included in the article...
